Mark VivianGuestWe are working our way through Paul's letter to the Colossians, and in connection with that, Mark requested that we also read a short passage from Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 5, verses 1 to 4.
So we'll start with that.

My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill.
He dug it and cleared it of stones and planted it with choice vines.
He built a watchtower in the midst of it and hewed out a wine vat in it.
And he looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.
What more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes? And then Colossians chapter 1, verses 9 to 14.
And so from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
