"And you who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands, that he set aside nailing it to the cross.
He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame by triumphing over them in him.
Therefore, let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink and with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.
Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceti- asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not with... and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with the growth that is from God."
Uh, before we come to the word this morning, why don't we ask our God for his help in understanding it? Would you please pray with me? Father God, we are indeed so grateful that we are able to be together this morning and to open your word, and we ask that your Holy Spirit, uh, would come and minister to us, that the Lord Jesus Christ would be held high in our midst, that we would leave this place not being the same because of the ministry that you have done through your word in holding your Son high.
