There's this trend going on in the socials where people, women mostly, are showcasing their male voices.
I think we all need to pay more attention to the female narrators, period.
However, a lot of people are choosing the absolute lowest, growliest, most gravelly, alpha, chest-rattling version of a male voice that they can possibly produce, and that's not sustainable.
Every time I hear another video where someone is essentially trying to become like a sentient subwoofer, part of me has this little like narrator panic response because I'm not just listening to how it sounds today.
I'm listening to what that choice might cost them six hours, 12 hours, six books into that series.
or two years from now if they do it for every male voice that comes across their career path.
