Ghany Gatherings Episode 31: Two Head Counselors Reflect

I know.

I love that.

I was reading through mine too from the campers and they're so fun.

But one of our favorite moments was a staff meeting.

So we have a counselor staff meeting once a week and we do shout outs where anyone can write a shout out.

and put it in a bucket and it could be to anyone on staff.

And then we pull a handful, like six or eight of them and read them out loud to the whole group.

And if you were the one being shouted out, you get to get something from the prize box, but then we do hang them all

up.

And on the very last staff meeting, we're getting ready to, you know, we're Stephanie always like mixes them up and she pulls it and she was like, Oh, this one is for Amy.

And Amy, you know, our, our third director with us.

And so she reads a shout out to Amy.

And so then she pulls another one and she was like, Oh, it's for Elizabeth.

And Stephanie was like, well, I better get one.

So then she pulls one and it was for her.

And the staff had secretly decided that all the shout outs were going to be just for me, Stephanie and Amy for that day.

And that was so fun and funny.

And like, just like, just like endearing.

And we just appreciate it so much.

It was a really, really fun prank.

Um, but also like a meaningful one because we were like,

Oh my gosh, no one's ever done that before.

It was so nice.

Um, and then the staff meeting before that, Stephanie and Amy and I planned a kind of a different format where we kind of did like a big morale boost for the staff.

And, um, we gave them their happy gram, um, notes, but also had all the oldest campers, the LITs and the 15s write, um, because of you statements to the counselors and everyone got a, because of you statement.
