**Are your behaviour strategies helping children thrive, or are they unintentionally creating more confusion?** Managing behaviour has become one of the biggest challenges in Early Years, with many…
i can add that to that yeah it's a big bucket list that's it okay so one of the things that were one of the um interesting conversations and obviously we go out and do audits and stuff and it's almost like behaviour is one of those big biggies that people struggle with and I've looked at quite a bit of social media and quite a few people go anybody know and your name comes up which is great and I go I know her yes Sarah can do it she can do it just listen Sarah she can do it but it's also the fact that I think I've seen an increase, and you can probably say this, an increase in behaviour and struggling behaviour, I'm going to say, because it's not inappropriate because there's a reason for it, but it is struggling behaviour in children.
Ever since COVID, and we're now six years down the line, however, we have to...
I think that the whole thing for me is like, what I've seen is the fact that, you know, we're, we, and I think I've had this discussion with you.
It's like, we're scared because that's going to be, you know, perceived as not, um, What's the word I'm saying? Not ensuring that behaviour, attitudes and all of that are being promoted positively.
I think we've gone too far now where children, and I'm seeing this, and I've got a setting that's in mind, had real, in their preschool group, and I won't say who they are, but they have done phenomenal work in the fact that they had a real struggle with their preschool children, real struggle, you know, so much so it was almost like a code red thing that when outbursts were happening with certain group of children in the preschool room, um, The code red was called, I'm calling it code red.
And it got to the point where we were, because you can't, you know, you can't hold a child.
And they turned around and they started doing this thing about boundaries and children having a clearer understanding of the boundaries of what is acceptable and what isn't acceptable.
Because if we don't tell them, and they came up with this thing and we did an audit and they said to me, if you'd come two weeks ago... you would have gone, what's going on? This is just diabolical.
But they work their socks off and they're still doing it now in the fact that they're setting those boundaries and they're saying, stop.
