Our topic today is how the Cockroach Janata Party, the phenomenal youth movement that seemed to emerge out of nowhere in recent months, has changed Indian politics.

In particular, shaking the hold of the ruling Hindu nationalist, some might say fascist, BJP government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

And few people are more competent to discuss this with me than Varghese George, resident editor in New Delhi of one of the most important English language newspapers in India, The Hindu, and a keen observer and analyst of Indian politics and politics worldwide.
