Gillian Tett is a longtime columnist for The Financial Times newspaper, and she is the provost of, uh, King's College at Cambridge University.

She's written for The Financial Times for a really long time, a publication that is pretty much dominated pe- by people who have a lot of expertise in finance, who have a background in economics.

She's studied everything from wedding ceremonies in Tajikistan to the 2008 financial crisis, which she famously predicted before it happened.

We tend to look at things through the narrow lens of our understanding and surround ourselves with people who believe or agree with our point of view.

Her argument at that point in time was it's detrimental to organizations, but it's detrimental to society in general at this point in history because so much is changing so fast and our preconceived notions about how things work are just wrong.
