This course provides an executive overview of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), emphasizing the vulnerabilities in current cryptographic systems and the urgency of adopting quantum-safe practices…
Jordan MillerHost
Celeste ChamberlainGuestAnd thank you all for being here on this Saturday to come in and talk about something I'm very passionate about, which is cybersecurity and definitely encryptions.
And you will be honored to know that I started out in the cybersecurity field not understanding or being able to grasp Diffie-Hellman, which is one of the foundational spaces and technologists of encryption.
I struggled, so I just wanted to let you know that if you are a person who is like, what is she talking about? Where does this word come from? It's fine, I started out that way as well.
I'm gonna give you some pointers that are educational based first, and then we're gonna have a conversation about not just post quantum cryptography, but the readiness.
How do we get ready for this thing? And when I say get ready, I mean, to be ready is late.
So I want to first start out after thanking everyone for being here on your Valentine's Day and Jordan putting together this impeccable panel twice.
So thank you so much for moderating and hurting us while we were trying to prepare for this thing.
And do I have any working students who are working either in the field of technology or you just hold down a job every day and go to school? Do I have any of you? Okay, that's no surprise there.
And then how many mid-career? or senior executive C-suite personnel I have.
I think what we're going to talk about today and the areas that we're going to focus on is going to be pretty impactful.
The first beginning of this will be about 15 minutes of education, some things that I thought was important to talk about and to just put top of mind for you.
and then we're going to have a discussion dr chamberlain and i and jordan's going to lead us through this fireside chat and then she's probably going to give everyone opportunities to ask questions so i want you to know that i'm not going to sit here and lecture you the whole time and i see a lot of smiles on your faces so that's that's wonderful So it's a privilege to be here today to talk about this particular topic.
And it's always, for me, stood at the helm of innovation, right? This particular topic is about emerging technology consistently.
And this emerging technology is probably, besides artificial intelligence and machine learning, the very next wave of innovation that will never stop.
Every year, this conference reminds me that progress does not happen by accident.
And in the prior presentation, Dr. Chamberlain did a great job of presenting us with the giant shoulders that we stand on every day in this particular field.
It was not all inclusive, and she made a point to let you all know that, but I think getting those slides, I think they'll be available after the conference, just to see some of the foundational things that she presented.
