In this episode of "Full Tech Ahead," host Amanda Razani interviews Israel Ortiz, VP and General Manager at Accruent. They discuss the major operational crisis currently facing the manufacturing…
All the legacy technology that manufacturers are having to deal with right now, how are they moving to the new AI tools?
I mean, these assets, these huge production lines that are HudaBev or any manufacturing is dealing with, they're starting to slowly start bringing in these manufacturers that will have IoT devices installed in them.
And so in one of the tours I was doing, they said, hey, let's go to our smart manufacturing and let's not go to this way, right? So the legacy ones will continue to need those inspections, will continue to need the monthly rounding, et cetera.
But as items are being replaced, As 20-year-old pieces of equipment come around, those manufacturers will start to embed that intelligent assets within them.
And so then my recommendation is to start investing in those and ensuring that you're slowly building a modern manufacturing plant for yourself.
What do you envision as the future of manufacturing and how can business leaders prepare and harness these tools?
One of them needed a lot of human intervention within those manufacturing sites.
Again, always having that human element in it because we're going to get smarter about the way we operate versus being completely replaced.
And so the future will be let's let technology work for us, but let's us always stay in the loop to ensure it's producing what we want.
And so we're more in that control room, ensuring things are there so that when something pops up, we can then go intervene.
And my advice is that, is this, is to, hey, you've got a rich set of data within you.
And so those work orders that you're closing out, it's much more important that you take those notes, that you annotate what happened, that you get that problem, cause and remedy in there and then clean that data and bring it into your data lakes because that information will be what will help you respond in the future much faster.
So I just say now more than ever, ensure that you're getting that information within there and then you can apply AI to get what you need from it.
