Modern dating can feel discouraging, but healthy, genuine connection is still possible. In this episode, I sit down with my partner, Indi, a dating and attraction coach for men, to explore how…
Can you also touch on one of the things that we disagreed on at the beginning was I always said just be yourself so you can attract the right person.
I think this is
terrible dating advice to just be yourself.
I think it's great.
I think, okay, if you are new in the dating, new, new.
People who don't have options, if they be themselves, they kind of just show the worst parts of themselves.
So somebody who's just beginning, I would just want them to selectively demonstrate qualities and habits that are in line.
To put it another way, a person, if we're trying to fill their cup up, we're trying to fill their cup up and there's holes in the cup.
We just want to plug the holes before we start adding more tactics and ways to bring in more things.
So to be yourself, to tell somebody who's new at dating or is inexperienced at dating to just be themselves, they're going to be themselves and they're going to get self-selected out of the dating pool.
But if we can stack enough wins to have them understand that and give their power away in less ways.
Just find less ways to give their power away.
I think new players in the dating market give their power away in ways that they don't understand that they are giving their power away.
And I just want to tell them a little bit more power.
You don't have to show all your, I mean, in a very healthy way, it's very healthy to show all your cards with a trusted person.
I don't think you can just show your cards with anybody.
I think people can get taken advantage of.
They show their cards to the wrong people.
But if you can recognize people who are on board with the lifestyle that you're trying to build and cultivate, I think now we are coming to the table eye to eye.
That's a healthier and stronger standpoint to come to the table with, in my opinion.
