I'm really looking forward to it.
It looks like...
Kind of an interesting concept.
Kind of pretty original.
I think nowadays he picks quite samey roles.
But back in the 80s, 90s, even stretching in the 2000s, he was really good.
And all of his roles were...
They were really consistently kind of different, but also good.
There's even a handful of ones from the 80s too.
um born on the 4th of july legend obviously rain man so tom cruise has a huge catalog behind him and i think this is going to be one of his best roles in a while um and obviously the cast supporting him you know got riz Ahmed as well john goodman so many great names Jesse Plemons.
So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Iñárritu kind of does because it also looks like a different kind of film to everything I've seen from him before.
I've seen most of his films now as I've been being on a bit of a binge with them the past few months to try and make sure all of them are covered.
um before i watched digger but i think it'll be something quite different something exciting something i've read on a review by someone that it's a little bit like a lanthimos kind of film and i mean i'm excited to see what that's like because everything i've seen from alejandro gonzalez and you've heard before have never really had a similar similar style of filmmaking to anything by yorkie lanthimos but we shall see it looks yeah it looks very different to anything i've seen from him so i'm excited to see what he does with it um and yeah like i say tom cruise is tom cruise is going to lead and definitely get himself an acting nomination at the oscars um next year so i'm really looking forward to um Really looking forward to what it's like, and I'm going to try and go on the opening day to watch it in the Odeon.
Just so I can get the absolute great opinion of it as soon as I can, just because I really have hope for it.
But, and the main point of this episode is a huge but, as much as I'm really excited for Digger, I still don't think it's going to be up there with my favourites.
Obviously, he hasn't got a huge, huge catalogue.
He's only been making films for 26 years, I think, with his debut Amor as Peros back in 2000. feature length debut so he hasn't got a lot behind him but I love his work so much and like how he represents the human condition so beautifully especially in his earlier work I don't think it's going to be my favourite possibly not even my second favourite or my third so in this episode I am going to have a little talk through of his career what I kind of think are his better films what I think are his weaker ones And a little prediction of where I think Digger might slot into my ranking.
