Hello, welcome to this recording of Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous, FA.
I am a food addict from New York State, and I'd like to share my story of food addiction.
I am 59 years old.
When I first came to an FA meeting, I was 37 years old.
I was just over 200 pounds.
And I was feeling quite miserable.
I will tell you that I've been in this program in recovery for 22 years.
And it's been quite amazing.
I knew when I first came in that I had a problem as my weight was very high and I couldn't control it.
I had tried to lose weight over the years and I was not able to do it.
I could lose weight, but I was never able to keep it off and continue at a normal body weight.
