Well, I wrote an article right before it was published, I think, uh, called Sometimes Good Christians Get Divorced, and it was about your book that was coming out.

Anyway, now that it's out, it's been out for six years, I guess, I cannot recommend her book enough and recommend it all the time.

Can a Christian Get a Divorce? And the la- the most recent one, which was last year I think, was Do Marriage Intensives Help to Heal Abusive Relationships? So you're one of our favorite guests, and I'm really happy that you're here to talk to us about something kinda completely different because-

I am seeing more and more things coming into my Instagram feed, um, basically kinda judging and condemning people who are estranged.

Or some of them are actually praising and encouraging people who are cutting other people off.

And, and it cuts both ways, right? And I think there's just a lot of misinformation and judgment, maybe lack of empathy for e- both sides who are experiencing this issue.

Um, I'm currently e- estranged from my mom, and I'm also estranged from one of my daughters.

And the only word that I can think of to describe both of those situations is complicated.

So we're gonna go there with you today, Gretchen, because you've written an excellent article highlighting the nine types of parent and adult child estrangements and how we can kinda discern which ones are actually healthy and which ones maybe aren't as healthy.
