A mistake is frustrating. But a mistake that costs you actual time or money? Those sting a little more. In an era where everyone’s watching their dollars and chasing more time, I want to talk about…
Biggest mistake number one, picking your destination before defining what you want.
Yep.
Yep.
Yeah.
You know? I want to
go there.
Yeah.
And then you go to that spot and there's 10,000 other people that saw it on Instagram and want to go there.
And it's not even close to anything that interests you around it.
I mean, you know, like that one spot may be beautiful, but then you're like, okay, and now what?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So have you guys done this? Because I feel like I've done that a lot, like picked a destination and then built the trip around it.
Well, that's different.
If you pick the destination based on your travel goals, and that's the thing here is...
if you know kind of the kind of vacation that you want, then you pick your destination and then you plan your trip.
So if you want to see shows and be in a crowd and maybe go to museums, then that's gonna be a city trip.
But
if you really want peace and quiet and pretty pictures, then maybe that trip to Provence is what you want.
But looking at somebody's Instagram pictures and thinking, okay, well, I can go there and then the rest of the trip will just fall into place.
There's not a lot else there.
I mean, you can, I mean, you probably could work it out, but it's really better to pick the goal for your trip first.
Like, do you want to relax? Do you want to see lots of stuff? Do you want to, you know, figure out what that, do you want to connect with family and friends? Do you want to kind of connect with people you've never met before? That should be like the very first thing.
