Fish Don't Read Calendars!

[upbeat music] Hello and welcome to another edition of Florida Sportsman Action Spotter Podcast.

I'm Captain Rick Rials.

Hey, it's been a busy week around Florida this week.

Some days broke in the weather.

I even got out this week, uh, for just the tail end of what has been the best sea bass season we've seen in northeast Florida maybe ever.

I don't know, but boy, we caught a lot of good fish this year, but they're clearly tapering off.

Other things are coming up.

The mahi fishing, surprisingly good for northeast Florida.

Now, that doesn't mean that we can run out and fill the boats like we used to, because there's a whole lot more boats on the fish than what there used to be up here.

But let's find out how it is around the state.

We're gonna get a fishing report from each major inlet, and I've got a question for the boys tonight.

All of them are lifers.

We've all been in this business forever.

Have you seen weather patterns change? For example, when I was a kid, we could count on a light west wind in the morning, all right, then it'd slick off in the summertime.

Now, this is summertime weather we're talking.

It'd slick off around 10:30, 11:00, then 1:30, here'd come the southeast sea breeze, and it'd come up day after day after day after day.

Well, as I say this today, it's blowing northeast 27 at my dock, so that's certainly not normal for the middle of May.

But let's find out what the pros think.
