What if the discomfort you’re experiencing isn’t a sign that something has gone wrong—but an indication that something is ready to change? Most of us want to get rid of discomfort as quickly as…

So I just want to address first the top level of discomfort, because discomfort comes in many forms.

It comes in the form of pain in the physical body, which is to me a, a message from the body letting you know, especially if a physical ailment or chronic pain or discomfort doesn't go away with a physical treatment.

If it's something that keeps nagging at you, it's trying to get your attention because there's something underneath it that needs to be expressed or to be attended to, that you have a need that's not being met, and you're not listening.

So the body will keep talking until one day it's screaming at you or it takes you down, and that could look like anything from COVID or a flu or cancer or an autoimmune disease.

There could be many different symptoms and diagnosis, if you will, that create an awareness that the body says, "Hey, you're not listening to me.

I've tried to tell you, but you're not paying attention to me," because most of us, quite frankly, are disconnected from our bodies.

Several years ago, I did an event called the Embodied Healing Intensive, and I actually think maybe in the future I'll do it again because I really loved the bridge that I was trying to make with people who, if you listen to the show, you love information, and you like listening, you're an auditory learner.

So a lot of words and information and ideas, and possibly you might listen to the show because maybe I motivate you.

Maybe my passion or intention or belief system inspires you and gives you hope that things can change and be better.

In fact, I finally feel like I made some progress in my own family when I was able to explain to my parents, who are now ready to hear differently than ever before, things about emotion and things about health.

And while the situations weren't great that led to this, they're in discomfort about some things and, but now they're open and they're ready.

So the discomfort of the situations that we're dealing with have provided a space where now they can receive information, information that helps them feel hopeful and positive and relief and ready to learn something new.

So your discomfort, if it's physical, is the physical body trying to tell you that it's out of whack, it's out of balance, it needs something.

There've been a lot of people coming into my experience from other experts and authors, and different levels of awareness, different levels of emotional intelligence, if you will.

I've even recently had the comment of that in my Three Steps to Unravel M- Messy Emotional Situations class, someone had said to me that it was really informative and eye-opening, and that they had never really thought about how they feel emotionally before.

But I do recognize there are a lot of people who aren't paying attention and could not name what emotions they feel at any given time.

In fact, I was on a hike with Doug once and I asked him what his feelings were, and he didn't know.

So it's definitely something that is, needs an awareness and gets practiced, but most of us don't do it until we get into a situation where we're uncomfortable.
