Spring Pike Fishing Made Simple

So one of the, the first ones to start is the old oil-filled glass lures.

These were fully sealed glass bodies, either straight tubes or minnow-shaped vials filled with some kind of oil.

Sometimes it was completely clear.

Other times it was slightly tinted.

A lot of cases they'd put in reflective flakes or just trap small air bubbles inside of that capsule.

Now, they wouldn't fill it all the way, and that empty space is what made it work.

Visually, it looked like a piece of glass with something alive inside it.

Light would refract and bend, almost like looking through, like, like, moving liquid glass.

Hmm.

Once it was in the water, the oil didn't just, like, slosh around.

It would roll and kind of fold over itself, the bubbles drifting and shifting little metal flakes inside whatever they had suspended in it.

It created this kind of, like, lava lamp shimmer where everything was constantly changing in the bait.

Now, the ide- idea wasn't to be realistic.

It was the instability, something constantly changing, something wounded, something off that the fish would key into.

That, that one was, was...

You know, I'm really intrigued by it personally.

[laughs]

I could see that.

Yeah.

'Cause think of, like, the flash boost, right?

Yeah.

There's, like, a little piece of, like, tinfoil, like, inside of the, the clear sides.

This would be even more movement and motion and light refraction than that.

Yeah.

So another...
