S. 2 Ep. 4. Ft. Arshi—Founder of Queer South Asians- QSA.Arshi explores the intersectional identities of being queer, trans, neurodivergent, and an immigrant from Bangladesh settled in Canada. Through community-engaged praxis, Arshi has built Queer South Asians and other community ventures, such as Kotha\_to—a conversation circle for queer Bangladeshi folks to overcome the barriers and divisions of culture and queer identity through the lens of an immigrant. Arshi shares early childhood tales, explores family relations and challenges, and explores the silver lining of hope and faith, fueled by love for one's family against all odds. A leader in Toronto and the broader Canadian landscape for queer and/or trans people of South Asian background and/or otherwise, Arshi utilizes community events in the form of conversation circles and fundraisers, as well as a recent venture into culinary arts, vis-à-vis 'Arshi's Dokan'—or Arshi's shop.
