Jermaine EeGuestJosephHostSo estate planning can be a very cold and calculated and not personal activity.
It sounds like you're adding a lot more to that and more humanity and meaning to it.
But before we get into how you're doing that, like what is estate planning for people that maybe have heard the term but don't know what fully it encompasses?

Really, there's a lot of terms that floats around like wills and trust and probate, executor, guardianship.

Essentially, what it is when you can no longer make a decision about the things that you have and sometimes your body, the health care directive, who gets to decide? And the reason why this is important is is because, for one, if you have decided who gets what and what goes where, it saves your family a lot of the overwhelm and the headache.

It was still very overwhelming, but it was much, much easier than if we didn't have one.

But then when you get into the things like trust, there's of course tax strategies and how do you avoid probate, which the will doesn't do.

If you understand, if you're listening to this and you understand those words out of my mouth, you're probably a lot further along in the process.
