Let's talk about the work that you

did at Baker Hostetler.

What were the types of projects that you worked on and was that what you expected?

Yeah.

One thing that I really did enjoy when you come in as a first year, you are unassigned.

You get to, for your first year, explore whatever type of law you want.

And we had six core practice groups.

And at the end of that first year, you were expected to declare your group.

Okay.

For your practice area.

Cool.

And so me coming in with a healthcare interest, I was interested in healthcare data privacy, this new field of neural privacy.

I was interested in medical devices and FDA regulation.

The thing about our office is we did not have any healthcare attorneys in that office.

They were scattered throughout the country.

So it was incumbent upon me to build those relationships with partners and senior associates in those offices.

which I had done successfully as a summer.

I did do some healthcare work, mainly regulatory, little bit of litigation.

I had tried labor and employment.

I had worked on securities matters.

I did want to try a little bit of everything.

I had heard about deal work, working on transactions, mergers and acquisitions, that the people who liked this kind of work really liked being able to be exposed to different types of businesses different types of regulations you could be working on one deal for a food company and you're looking at fda regulations or state regulations and you could be on a deal that involves an insurance company so the variety And I like variety.

And I found myself not getting as much healthcare work.

You have to keep your plate full.

You have to be billing hours.
