I'm thinking most people have heard this topic before called helicopter parenting.

And I thought often of doing a podcast on this topic of helicopter parenting.

But truthfully, I find it difficult because I feel it can come across as judgmental.

But here I am, and I've decided to tackle this topic and do the best I can.

So what does it mean to be a helicopter parent? Here's the definition from Merriam-Webster, the dictionary of a helicopter parent.

One who is overprotective, intensely involved, a parent who hovers over their child.

So I thought I would find the definition of micromanage, which is to manage, especially with excessive control or attention to small matters or large matters that could cause problems.

How do we find a balance between protecting and taking care of our child as opposed to backing off and letting them do whatever? I guess we really need to see it as a balance.
