Concerning Hobbits

Yeah, we did an episode on this.

It must have been a year and a half ago now.

The infamous, would you open an alpha starter deck episode.

Yes.

So for special occasions, we dust off the old decks.

And for those who did not recall the details or have blocked it from their mind, the idea was we would try to recapture some of the experience of magic as Garfield intended in the very, very early days where maybe all you had was a starter deck and you would just shuffle that up and play.

You would just use the basic lands that were in your Revaya starter deck and see if you can cast anything.

And it's tough, David.

I mean, you were there and I think you had, you opened some great cards.

You opened the Shiv and Dragon.

And I think, did you have any mountains in your deck?

When I opened my starter, I had one mountain, so I couldn't even play the Shiv and Dragon.

The booster I opened was a second Shivan and like two more mountains.

So I was like, all right, we're, we're doing it.

I think so.

I played a three mountain, two Shivan dragon, no other red card.

No, maybe it was like a boost control or something in there.

So you did actually get a shivit in play at some point.

Oh, I got two shivits in play.

I remember someone was just like, you have two dragons.

Like, they killed my dragon.

They teared the first one.

And then I was all psyched when they were like, what the hell?

This man had two shivit

dragons.
