Next week gets off to a little bit of a quieter start with the August bank holiday in the UK, but it also brings the start of September.

As we discussed in this week's blog, the US focus shifts from policy to data watch next week.

And price pressures, whilst they remain relatively strong or elevated, are largely a function of of administered prices or energy prices, and with the services and wage levels actually moderating.

Now, on the fiscal side, however, the situation is a little bit more uncertain as we move forward.

Since becoming prime minister on July the 20th, there has been huge volatility in global geopolitics and multiple evolving political themes.

Next week, that may change as Burnham faces his first Prime Minister's questions and potentially gets drawn on what policy will look like under his reign.

We retain a more cautious, dovish or even bearish view on the UK macro into September and beyond.
