Fast-Tracked IPOs, Prediction Markets & Preferred Securities

I think the things that I think about with prediction markets, uh, ETFs coming to market, it all comes down to disclosure, right? Dis- disclosure to exposure, and what are you getting with regard to these prediction market ETFs, right?

[upbeat music] All right.

Joining me will be Rich Lee, head of program trading and execution strategy at Baird, who's a global financial services firm that oversees some $560 billion in client assets.

So they're involved in everything from private wealth management to investment banking, asset management, uh, capital markets.

They're involved in it all.

And as it pertains to capital markets, Rich himself is primarily responsible for helping institutional clients with their ETF trading strategies.

So think handling large scale institutional ETF trades and serving as an authorized participant for, uh, ETFs.

And I'll tell you, because of the unique position that Rich occupies, he obviously stays on top of everything occurring within the ETF space and certainly the, uh, broader financial markets.

And so we are gonna jump around on several very timely topics, including index providers looking to fast-track big IPOs such as SpaceX, right? They're basically rewriting their rules on the fly to accommodate these IPOs.

So we'll talk about the pros and cons of that.

Uh, we'll also discuss prediction market ETFs, which the SEC is now soliciting public comments on those, and then we'll briefly touch on tokenization as well.

This should be a fantastic conversation.

Now, later, I'll be joined by Doug Baker, portfolio manager and head of preferred securities at Nuveen, who currently offers 24 ETFs, nearly $18 billion in assets.

And of course, Nuveen overall, they manage some $1.4 trillion in global assets.

But we're gonna focus on ETFs, and specifically the Nuveen Preferred and Income ETF, ticker NPFI, which if you're not overly familiar with preferreds, don't worry.

I'm gonna have Doug give us a nice, uh, primer on that asset class.

And then from there, we'll dive into that Nuveen Preferred ETF and also discuss the preferred ETF category overall, just talking about some due diligence tips.
