James Hird on the panel and declared he officially wants into the process to find the next Essendon coach.
People will say last year that, you know, uh, over a year ago when I answered that question.
Um, did I want to coach? And, uh, I honestly said at that time I wasn't in a position to coach.
It wasn't on my mind.
It wasn't something I wanted to do.
They had a coach, um, who was doing reasonably well.
They were winning games of football.
Things have changed, and things have changed, and the club has gone to the position where they've won one game in 27.
Um, it hasn't been performing well, and that's, that's distressing for me because, as I said, I've loved being part of that football club and being part of the journey.
So the most important thing for me as an Essendon person and what I want to see that football club do, and, and Andrew intimated it or talked about it today, is for them to go through the most exhaustive process possible to find the best person to be the coach of the Essendon Football Club.
If the club came to me and said, "Would you be part of that process?" I would definitely say yes.
That is something I'd love to be part of.
[whooshing]
It was amazing TV.
What did you make of it, being in the industry for so long? The way that Eddie and, and Hirdy had, had looked like they'd rehearsed this and knew exactly the questions and the answers.
How did you s- perceive it?
Yeah, it was.
Was it orchestrated?
