Life has a way of reminding us what truly matters. In this heartfelt episode of the Equestrian Performance Mindset Podcast, I and Lorna return after taking time away following the heartbreaking loss…
Jocelin LillienauHostSo before we kind of dig into anything today, since, as Joss said, we've been missing for a week and Our whole equestrian, I am crying my eyes out as a speaker and I apologise for it because I think like myself, we're grieving for two amazing riders.
I think the whole equestrian community has suffered an imaginable loss, not just the equestrian community and Kerry and Sophie's families and friends and anybody who knew them through riding and eventing who Both of them on the same day tragically lost their lives in different events and accidents at different competitions.
I think the first thing that I'd like to say is our hearts are with both of their families, their friends and everyone's lives who touched.
I don't know Sophie.
I know you don't know her either, but Kerry was obviously, she was a one-on-one client.
She was a friend.
She was part of our community.
I know a lot of you that are listening probably knew her personally.
A lot of people have probably ridden alongside or seen her smiley face at a competition or as part of our community.
I think the weight of something like this, the tragedy of something like this just brings our entire community together.
Yeah.
And I think, yes, we have missed an episode and it's because neither of us felt that it was right to just simply carry on as normal.
We all wanted a little bit of time just to reflect and there's no right way through this.
There never is.
But I think just to put our thoughts together and You know, I just want to say that she was the most courageous and brave and kind person.
She was also a nurse practitioner as well.
And she was the kindest person and she always wanted to help everyone and offer a message in the community.
And I know from listening to other podcasts that she was so kind and, you know, anybody that did well, she was the first person to celebrate with them, I guess.
Yeah, she's going to be a massive loss to us all, that is for sure.
Not just personally to us, but to our whole community and every single person that we...
I think you can say a few words.
I'm not doing so well.
