Mark Willis, CFP®, bestselling author and podcast co‑host, empowers people to grow safe, predictable wealth and design retirement income they won't outlive. Top 3 Value Bombs 1\. Think in…
Mark WillisGuestJohn Lee DumasHostI mean, if you're borrowing against this capital for years to fund a business, what's actually left for retirement and how does the strategy work over the long term in that situation, Mark?

So you want to look at this from a number of different perspectives, and I absolutely recommend don't rush off and just build this with your cousin or your friend from college who got his life insurance license two weeks ago.

You want to work with a competent professional who's doing this for the long term.

That's what I meant when I said our financial plans should not be ending on Saturday night.

So our life insurance policies, as we've talked about in this episode, have been used for infinite applications for today's needs, the business needs.

However, every cash value life insurance dollar in my policies will therefore be available to me again when I decide to retire.

So after all the recycling of those dollars for the equipment, for the inventory, for the tax bill, for everything that I need my money doing for me during my working years, my cash value is still compounding and growing for my ultimate future.

And that's the best part because I can use the same policies later on in life for an insurance income that under tax law right now means there's no taxes due on the distributions I take off of that cash value.

Life insurance is one of the rare places you can pull funds without paying any income tax on the distribution.

That means the principal can come back to you and the gains can come back to you if we do it right with no taxes due.
