Entertainment 2.0 #718 – Tivo AutoSkip+ Ultra

And the first one is from Kyle, who says, hey, it's very awesome that Xbox is allowing users to do the disk to digital conversion.

We talked about this on the last episode.

He says, unfortunately, I don't think this will help me for two reasons.

I have an Xbox 360 with a disk drive and that doesn't work.

And I have an Xbox Series S that doesn't have a disk drive at all.

Yeah, this isn't going to work for you, my friend.

He says, in addition, all the games that I would want to convert to digital are Xbox 360 games, which sound like they're not supported right now.

Mostly these are games like Halo and the Xbox 360 Lego games.

Maybe someday they will find a way for people who have Xbox 360 games and don't have a disk drive to turn the disk into, well, like to convert them to digital.

How? How? How would that even happen? I don't know how

I have an idea here, although these are probably going to be in demand now, but I would check eBay for external Xbox 360 drives and see if you might be able to get a deal on one of those.

They cost like $130 when they came out.

I don't know what one goes for on a secondhand market these days, but maybe that could enable this capability for you.

So I think, are you talking about those HD DVD drives?

Yeah.

Yeah.

That is a heck of a throwback.

And it's a cool idea.

I don't think it's going to work, though, because part of the problem is they're not supporting Xbox 360 games at all.

So...
