It's a little bit tongue in cheek because tropes are something that have really exploded on social media.

When we talk about books and stories, they're often used in marketing material and, And in many ways, they often reduce books down to, I guess, their component cores.

It's a recognition of... something that is key to our experience in one way or another.

It's a repetition of an emotional experience or a truth or a fear or just something that as people, regardless of where we are in space or time or geography, connects us I use trope in just the same reductive way as they're used in marketing material and I do that with a lot of love but through the course of this podcast and the articles that are going to be available I hope that everybody starts to recognize that tropes are just the way that we tell stories to and about ourselves the way that we've done for tens of thousands of years and And the way that regardless of where we are or who we are, there are some things that remain universally important to us.
