Adam ShibleyGuestSapphireHostNow let's get into this thing that has left me super excited.
So drum rolls, guys.
Let me tell you this story.
In 2025, and I'm reading this now, I threw away all of my email funnels and lead magnet.
Instead, I started promoting my weekly Podcasting Business School newsletter as the lead magnet.
Since doing that, I have added over 2,000 plus subscribers.
Number one, funnels have never worked well for me, and two, lead magnets have never worked well for me.
Now we have come to see for today.
So let's dive right into this, and you know, how you made the pivot into how it is you do your newsletter today.

I like creating what I call minimum effective dose business, and I'm always looking for things that I can get rid of.

I have a three-day work week, because I spend a lot of time with my family and my kids and, and, you know, I'm, I'm very involved in, in the family, uh, side of things.

So I can't have an abundance of things to do, so I'm always looking to, to trim down and do less, but better.

So I got to thinking about emails, and one of the things I was overwhelmed was like, I'm getting so many emails.

I'm so, like I'm overly marketed to, and on social media we're overly marketed to, and I listen to podcasts and I'm marketed to, and I was just like, nobody ever gave me permission, I know I ne- I never gave anybody else permission, to send me like 52 emails, uh, in a funnel and then try to sell me something that, that costs 5K at the end.

So I got to thinking about that, and it's like, I never gave anybody permission to do that, and they didn't either.

So why am I doing this? So that was one thought process of can, is it possible to get rid of funnels? And then I started thinking about lead magnets, because I was like, "Okay, if someone's on my email list, my goal is to have somebody that wants my emails." So if I...

I used to have a scorecard, and I put a lot of people on my list with this, this podcast growth scorecard, but what they wanted was the scorecard.
Now let's get into this thing that has left me super excited.
