This week, Jenn and Alexa are catching up on everything from hair transformations and doctor visits to neighborhood drama and the very important question of whether we've officially reached the age…
That it's so important, at least for me, and I don't know if anybody else feels like this, to have a good relationship with your doctor, to feel safe enough to ask anything, any dumb question or something that you think is dumb.
Especially, I think for me in this age where there's a lot of things that are changing and things that are happening.
Obviously, I think going to a gynecologist is not the best experience.
I don't know that I can sit here and say like, I love going to see Dr. Alvarez, but I do love going to see Dr. Alvarez in the sense that I feel so safe and so validated when I go talk to him.
He has never made me feel stupid.
He has never, you know, even when I probably do have unhinged questions or, I mean, this is the man that allowed my mother to sprinkle holy water on him three different times during my three deliveries.
So he's just such a beautiful human being.
But I kept kind of thinking like, how important I think it is to have a good relationship because it makes it a little bit less uncomfortable to have to go to one of these appointments where they're poking and prodding you and all this stuff.
And to have that, I kept thinking, man, it really is nice to feel good, right? And He started asking me questions.
I'm 45 now.
How am I feeling? Are things changing? I think overall, I'm not there yet.
I don't know that I'm in perimenopause, but we were talking about things that I have noticed.
He just had a great way of making me feel like it's normal, like I'm not crazy anymore.
And I don't know, it just, it felt really good.
And also it was such like an eye-opening thing when I was like filling out like my age and stuff.
Because you know how you have to fill out all the documents every year.
And it said like your age.
And I'm like, I remember filling this document out when I was like 22 years old within this office.
And now I'm 45.
That's insane.
So, so crazy.
And we were talking about it and he's like, he calls me kiddo.
He's like, kiddo, I've literally seen you grow up.
I'm like, you really have.
And then Mila came with me because, you know, she goes everywhere with me.
