But this is not the story that you think it is, because this took place in the year 1099, when the Crusader army conquered Jerusalem, subjugating its population, Muslims, Jews, and Christians, for more than 88 years, before they lost it in a single day when Saladin's army surrounded the city, crushed the Crusaders, and then opened Jerusalem to the world.
