Jodie Cook believes there are no unique messages - only unique messengers. And in a time when AI can create almost anything, who you are might matter more than ever…
Jeff AbracenHostI'm writing a little bit about the World Cup at the moment because [laughs] that's on currently.
I talk to a lot of founders, and what fascinates me is the stuff that they're struggling with, the problems that they're facing, that they're working through.
I really like it when you speak to someone when they're, like, mid-bounce, 'cause everyone's bouncing up and down in their journey.
Usually, people talk about the bounce back after it's happened, but what about the bounce, like, where it's like, "Oh, there's this thing that I'm struggling with right now"? 'Cause I think that inner working of their mind is fascinating.
So I talk to founders, and then I uncover their problems, and then I write the solution to their problems, either because they've taught me, and then I quote them, and then I, and then I share and promote them; or it's what...
if I was facing that problem myself, what's the advice that I'd give to myself? And that's what I write.
So lots of it is ad- like advice to my former self, advice to a hypothetical version of me, or it's channeling someone else's advice to then help other people.

There are no new problems, and people say like, "We're in the same boat." I'm like, "No, we're probably in the same storm."

I'm gonna ask you about your bounce in a second, but I wanted to know, let's say tomorrow you're writing your last Forbes article, and it's gonna get the absolute most viewership it's ever gotten, or most viewership of any article you've ever written.
I would be writing about the importance of rest and how to trust yourself enough to have rest.
