And the regulators back in those days, I won't say they didn't give it a lot of thought, but lending rules were different back then.
loan.Fast forward to 2026, the loan has had lots of regulation to look at it, and I call it a kinder and gentler reverse mortgage, that you have to take a class to make sure, by a third party, to make sure you understand what the reverse mortgage-
We have to, as lenders, make sure that you can actually qualify and pay for your property taxes and insurance.
And that's all for the consumer's protection, so it is a much, much better loan beginning.
