76% of American adults have at least one chronic illness. 40% have two or more. The system was built for the other 24%. And it's still pretending that's fine. This is a new episode of Diagnose This…
So I was thinking specifically, because I did a video recently, I don't know if you saw it, but I was talking about dealing with post-viral syndrome and some of the complications that I've had coming off, trying to heal from that, including MCAS and POTS, more correctly, orthostatic hypotension, the version I'm dealing with.
And thank goodness now, I have practitioners who will listen to me.
Because yes, even as someone who works in the field and as someone teaching all these people, I still am a patient too, right? We all are at some point or another, and so you need to go find your people.
But when I have something go wrong with me, now I'm at a point in life where I don't have to worry, am I going to be believed anymore? I have that credibility.
I speak the language.
People know I'm not faking it.
Wait, thank you.
What are you doing? Hi.
People know that I just don't have to go through all that extra crap.
But I remember when I did, I remember when I had to deal with medical gaslighting.
I remember when I would describe some symptoms.
I remember an orthopedist saying to me once, I think I've shared this before, but, oh, digestive issues have nothing to do with low back or pelvic pain.
Really? Have you looked at the anatomy? Have you looked at the nerve roots? I mean, come on.
So frustrating.
