I mean, I think we've always believed that a really good sustainable building doesn't necessarily have to look like one.
I think there's a lot of energy expended in kind of using systems that are show-off kind of things that I think there's much more important attention to be paid into the very basic things about where your building is, which way it's facing.
what it's made out of, how long it's going to last, and most importantly, I think, how it makes people feel in the building.
I mean, that's a layer of sustainability that doesn't get talked about enough.
Like we're doing right now a dining hall and wellness building for St. Paul School in New Hampshire.
And that is very much part of their whole, their brief is to make the students feel welcome, comfortable, and secure in the building because they are young and impressionable people, right? So- Those are things matter that you don't think about necessarily everything you touch, everything, how you move through the building, who can see who and who can't.
Do you have kind of a defensible space? Like you feel, do you feel comfortable in the building? Those are really much more intangible things that they talk about a lot.
