You hired good people. You gave them a job description. Maybe you even told them to "go sit next to Jessica" for a few days. But did you actually train them? In the final episode of our Systems…

We started with systems and talked about consistency, tribal knowledge, and what happens when the way your practice operates lives inside someone's mind instead of inside the practice.

Then we moved into staff and looked at the business side of having enough of the right people, hiring well, and keeping your best employees.

And Sandy, I think this might be the episode where practice owners have to ask themselves a really difficult question.

But we did actually teach them how to do it, right? I mean, you know, I showed her once.

When do we train? Do we have the protocols? We talk about that all the time because most practices don't.

They try to either develop them themselves, and sometimes people are successful at that, or they hire consultants like classic practice to do that.

Or some doctors, and I see this a lot, will choose to just go to a lot of different continuing education classes to get their training.

Now, just to be clear, I'm all about going to CE, but you have to be very careful not to hop around and change things too often.

So once you have a system for training, that's your system, like we talk about recipes.

I might change it the first couple of times to get it really good, but I don't want to keep changing it because then I'm not going to get predictable and consistent results.

And so what happens in all businesses, not just dental practices, because everybody's rushing to get through the day and get see their patients and do everything they need to do.
