This is one of the most vulnerable episodes I’ve ever recorded. The last 8 months haven’t looked like “disciplined athlete life.” They’ve looked like grief. Morning sickness. A stress fracture scare…

Super pregnant, so that's why if you hear me, like, huffing and puffing, it's 'cause, like, talking [laughs] is hard 'cause the baby's, like, pressing on my s- stupid lungs.

I mean, how long have I been pregnant? Eight months? Eight and a half months? It has been a really hard eight and a half months.

It's so weird, like, it feels like it has flown by, and also I feel like, wow, eight and a half months is almost a year.

Um, I feel like th- so much of this is just my own insecurity, but I think it's common, and I think it's perpetuated by social media, of just this feeling of, like, not being enough, not doing enough, not being a good enough athlete.

I- I'm really talking today s- s- like, specifically about, like, performance and running and training, um, although I'm sure we could, like, dive into, like, so many facets of my life where I don't feel like I'm enough.

You know, I, I really think just kind of looking at what I thought was going to happen in this last nine months.

I thought I was gonna have this really, um, amazing comeback season after my first pregnancy and, um, you know, I just have not.

Like, it has just been such a struggle, and I just compare myself to other women on social media, and they are moms, and they are new moms, and they just had a baby.

They had a baby right before me, right after me, and, you know, they're running Boston Marathon.

And, like, I'm just, like, seeing all this stuff, and I'm just feeling so down on myself and so inadequate.

And then, you know, the, the, the, the most hilarious part of all here is I'm going into the end of my pregnancy, into my next postpartum period super unfit.

I, I ran all through high school, and then I decided to not run in college, and so I actually took, like, my freshman year where I took, I think, like, a year off of running.

And, um, you know, so that was, like, the last time I really ever had to, like, do a true comeback to running journey.

I've definitely have had, like, seasons where I would, like, run/walk or not train a lot, but, like, a true, like, I don't run, um, i- it's been since college.
