Well, Visa's stablecoin settlement volume has surpassed a $20 billion annualized run rate, up more than 15x year-over-year as stablecoin-linked card programs expand across its network.
More than 160 such programs were live globally in Visa's fiscal second quarter, with payment volume nearly tripling from a year earlier.
Visa said growth is creating a working capital challenge because issuers must fund daily settlement obligations before collecting from cardholders, particularly for smaller programs where traditional lending facilities can be inefficient.
Borrowing costs have fallen by as much as 30% as more lenders entered the market.
Rain has used the facility since August 2023 to finance about $2 billion across more than 2,000 on-chain borrow events and over 7,000 repayments with zero defaults, while travel card issuer Carta used a credit coop facility before raising $140 million in June 2026.
