Some of us had great experiences at school, while others found school a drag and totally not accessible for our needs. Join Ella and Talia as they share their school stories on this week’s episode of…
That's so awesome.
So yes, last week we went to the Transition Expo.
Yeah.
How was your experience at
the Expo? Your first time there? Loved it.
I love seeing our disabled communities come together and it was especially nice to see in person how much work is being doing on the ground for disabled communities from learning to making different spaces accessible to creative opportunities and work opportunities specifically and also just want to give a bit of a highlight to the toasted sandwiches upstairs that's the venue thing and I loved it and I also loved that it was a beautiful spring day as well so just made accessibility a lot more tangible for the fact that we had good weather as well.
Yeah and it was a busy day.
Oh it was so busy and I also appreciated all the freebies people had on the table including some freebie fidget toys, pens, lollies, all the things and it was also nice to see a lot of our friends and familiar faces around from our communities too so um definitely if you haven't been to transition expo because it's a great space to just connect with others what about yourself your second transition
yeah second time there um it's cool that the dealers had a store like you said lovely to see some millie faces but some new faces as well all the kind of young people the school evens kind of seeing what's out there so i think you know always great to chat to Well, the youth are up to their things.
Keep us young.
Keep us young.
Keep us young and on our toes.
Yeah.
And this week, you know, the theme of the episode is us being a disabled student set you up for being a goody good or a troublemaker.
And I think, you know, that's very reflective of all the people we met.
I think so.
And I also think it's reflective of our own experiences as well.
So I think for us to set the scene for the topic today, we should play a bit of a game that takes us back to school with a bit of would you rather.
That's so awesome.
