Bingo Parking Lot Murder

So it was 2.42 on the afternoon of April 17th, 2024, when a green Dodge Ram rolled into the parking lot of Bingo World on South Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs.

The driver was Dorothy King.

Her friends called her Janie.

She had worked earlier that day, stepped out, and was expected back to help clean the building.

Within minutes, she would be dead.

The security video would become the spine of this case.

It showed Dorothy getting out and going to the bed of her truck, where she began removing cardboard boxes.

It also showed a stranger approaching from South Academy Boulevard, a white man in dark clothes, a bright reflective safety vest, white shoes, and sunglasses pushed up on his forehead.

One camera had an important flaw.

Its timestamp had reset to the year 2000.

Can you imagine? Okay, good old computer systems and everything.

And the recording skipped forward at a crucial or critical point.

But the available images still show the same man walk past Dorothy's truck, turn around, and head back towards her.

In the next relevant view, he was already in the driver's seat of her truck.

Dorothy was outside the open driver's door.

The footage depicted the man thrusting toward her and forcing her backwards.

A knife appeared trapped between her left arm and chest.

Dorothy pulled it free, threw it onto the pavement, and reached back towards the door.

Then the truck was put into reverse and it accelerated.

The side mirror struck Dorothy.

The left front wheel crossed her foot, knocking her down, and the truck continued over her body.

The driver then sped away in her pickup.

The report describes a killing compressed into seconds, an apparent attempt to take a vehicle, Dorothy fighting to stop it, and her own truck becoming the instrument of fatal injury.

Now, can you believe the fact that she was stabbed and then she took the knife out and threw it down and went back after her attacker?

The adrenaline.
