CREEPYPASTA STORY►by Pieryl: / pieryl Creepypastas are the campfire tales of the internet. Horror stories spread through Reddit r/nosleep, forums and blogs, rather than word of mouth. Whether…
Every window and door on the ground floor was covered by the gray perforated stuff the council bolts on so squatters can't get in.
From the road it looked completely sealed.
But it wasn't.
Round the side, past the wheelie bins that hadn't been moved in a year, one screen had been worked loose at the bottom corner.
You could lift it, go in feet first, and pull it back behind you.
I followed Dom through the gap and fixed the screen before hitting record on my phone.
The party was already going when we got there.
40, 50 kids, somebody's speaker on the kitchen counter, the bass coming up through the floorboards because there was no carpet or furniture.
People had brought torches and those battery lanterns.
Someone set up a couple of fairy lights gaffer taped to the banister so the whole place had this low orange glow that didn't reach the corners.
I filmed the maps on the wall and the fairy lights, got a clip of Dom holding court in the front room with a girl from the year above.
He clocked the camera and pulled a face before I cut it.
I'd been shooting since we left mine, and the battery had drained.
I always think I'll charge it, and then I'm out the door.
I went up the stairs, past the fairy lights, looking for Lys and a power bank.
After no sign of her, I found a back bedroom with a mattress somebody had dragged in.
There was an open window's worth of cold coming through the screen.
I sat down to wait for Lys.
I put my back against the wall.
That's the last ordinary thing, me on a mattress in the dark with my phone low on charge, listening to a party I was at but not in.
I should say what I saw before that, because I've gone back to it.
On the way up I leaned over the banister and filmed the front room one time, the crowd starting to thin.
That point in the night where the party tips and people remember they've got to be somewhere.
You can see it happen.
