148. GETTING CLEAR ON YOUR CREATIVE BUSINESS

So let's start just with a picture because I think the topic of today, this really helps to bring this to life.

If you imagine a room, imagine a beautiful, beautiful room, and you have spent years filling this room up with furniture and curiosities and books and all of those kind of things that end up in a beautiful, really well-used room.

And every single piece that you place into that room is good.

And it has a need and a personal story behind it.

You've chosen every single piece for a very valid reason.

And at the point of putting it into the room, it made sense.

But there is now so much in there that you can't move through the room properly.

And you definitely can't sit there and relax or indeed sort of see all the individual things that really matter and mean something to you.

And as a result, the whole room just feels really heavy.

So open the door and you sort of dread going into that room.

And you definitely can't think properly when you're inside it.

And when it comes to a room like this, We know exactly what to do.

We know how to ease that.

It's really, really straightforward.

It's very practical.

We dedicate some time and we spend time clearing it.

Really, really straightforward.

We sort through everything.

We create piles of things that might be interesting for other people.

We create charity shop piles and we take things out until we can see the room again.

And then we make sure that it feels more minimalist.

And that's a very, very practical thing to do.

And it makes perfect sense.

And then the room finally becomes a space where we can relax and we can really enjoy being in it again.

And suddenly all these pieces that were perhaps buried under clutter are very evident and you get to really enjoy them again.
