Episode 96 of CountrifiedUK is packed from start to finish! This week, we’re joined by country music star Trey Lewis for a feature-length interview, where we talk about his career, life on the road…
Trey LewisGuestOut of all places to go and see Luke Combs, it definitely wasn't on our bingo card this year.
we left Newcastle on the Monday, flew to Paris, spent the whole day down in Paris, down by like the Eiffel Tower, doing your touristy things and having a look around.
But then Tuesday came and it was the day of the concert.
And one thing that did strike us from the moment we stepped into the airport in Newcastle to getting onto the plane, to arriving in Paris airport and getting on the train to the city centre was, was how many country music fans there were.
So on a flight that might hold, I don't know, 150 people, at least 50 people on that flight were definitely going to see Luke Combs.
We've seen Luke Combs t-shirts, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, people talking about Luke Combs.
And yeah, that was just fantastic, especially from our hometown.
When we were in Paris, there was so much, so many people that were going there that we had bumped into.
And again, you can just tell when someone's going to a country music concert, especially in the heart of Paris, because you don't really see many cowboy boots there.
around there as well so that was fantastic to see um so we headed across and to the arena on tuesday and it was at the air court arena which is just a little out of the city center it held 20 000 it's in a park it's beautiful um The arena is the same size as the O2 in London, but it definitely feels a bit smaller when you're inside.
Like I say, it was beautiful.
It's a very well-run venue.
We got down there, and once again, something that struck us was the amount of English people that were there.
There must have been about 70% of that 20,000 were from the United Kingdom.
We heard a few American accents, bumped into a few Americans.
So it was just like being at a concert in the UK.
So we wanted to get down early because we're huge fans of the Costellos and they were the first support act that were supporting Lukums.
So the Costellos came on stage.
