In a world obsessed with trends, filters, and impossible standards, many women are left questioning their worth every time they look in the mirror. But what if beauty was never about fitting into…
So, David, as most of us know, the messages that we are sent about beauty, particularly as women, they're brutal and they can make anyone feel less than.
So what do you think is the biggest problem women face today when it comes to beauty and style?
And it's the same thing in life, which is we are taught to seek validation outside the self.
But really this whole idea that there is a perfect ideal that exists outside the self.
Whether in beauty, we're talking about all these systems, to create the illusion of symmetry like that old fruit standard.
Who wants to be a banana? But all of these systems are based on this concept of an ideal outside the self.
If you accept this, which we all, we've had no alternative really, then what you're really saying is if I do all these things, and even if I'm perfect, then I've really created a facade out in front of me that is not authentic.
So really, if you do it even well, it leads to low self-esteem, which is the whole issue.
And if they can convince you that there's something wrong about you that needs to be corrected, well, they can keep you on that carousel going round and round and round.
But love-based beauty is really about understanding you're exactly who you're supposed to be.
