This episode shares some of the behind-the-scenes dynamics that we’ve had to navigate in order to spend 24/seven together as a traveling family. You will see the parallels between us navigating…
There's also a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that dealt with on a daily basis that I thought would be helpful to share with people so they can understand what's going on behind the photos and how we have transformed as a family this past month and I will say that sometimes things need to get worse before they get better and that is I how it has felt as we've traveled i think that when you are with people a hundred percent of your waking hours and you do not really have much of a break you really get to see all of your dynamics come to life in a way that you wouldn't otherwise If you have a picky eater you see it more than you ever would.
If you have a child that throws tantrums you will see those tantrums like you've never seen before.
If you and your spouse have disagreements they will be exacerbated by the closeness that you are putting yourself in.
because you are together 100% of the time.
Siblings have to work through a lot of different issues that they might be able to hide from at home when you have separate bedrooms and a lot more downtime to just decompress.
So there were a lot of dynamics that we had to navigate.
And I really made this comparison to like when you're cleaning a closet, and it's really messy but you take everything out of it and it gets even messier temporarily like it gets worse before it's about to get better that has been how it has felt to like sort through our family dynamics and our relationships and basically like things sort of got messier before they got cleaner.
It got crazier and more chaotic before it got more orderly and organized.
And I think that if you imagine that closet, it's worth it.
You know, it's worth it to take everything out.
It's worth it to sort through and really examine the pieces and, um, discard some things and cherish some things and put it all back neatly but it does take work and in the midst of it when everything is thrown everywhere and feels chaotic you start to question wow was this the right choice like should I have really emptied that closet out now I have to deal with putting it all back And that's how it felt with the relationships.
There were times where I was like, I don't know how we're going to survive three months together with some of the issues we were facing.
