91 Bone Books 1 and 2

Speaking of, uh, child-friendly, um, we are discussing, uh, book one and two of Bone by Jeff Smith.

Yep.

Which is a multi-Eisner Award-winning s- comic.

It's one of those on everybody's read this comic before you die list [laughs] of, like, top 100 greatest comics, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Hey, this is one on that list that I don't hate.

Yeah, one we can knock off the list and, and actually have good feels.

Published from '91 to 2004, uh, nine books and vol- I think it's just, like, 50-some chapters, but it's cut down into nine books.

But today we're doing, uh, Out of Boneville and The Great Cow Race.

[laughs]

Books one and two [laughs] of this lovely tale.

And I don't, I don't know, like, I don't know if this is something I've ever uttered on this podcast, and if I have, it hasn't been often, but I really like this, and I think it's because it has a lot of heart.

Like, it's just so genuine and just, I, like, in- not innocent, but, um, it's very pure in its motives [laughs] and very-

... it's just sweet.

It is.

It, this is fair.

This is a fair, I, I agree with you.

Yeah.

It is a sweet tale, and it r- it, it's very reminiscent of, like, old Looney Tune cartoons and old, like, Disney comic books from the 1960s and stuff, which is not surprising because, um, Jeff Smith has cited those old comics, especially, and this won't sur- surprise anyone once they've met, uh, Phoney Bone, but, uh, the old Scrooge McDuck comics.

You know, I got, and I made a note of this, I got, there are very Looney Tune vibes-
