And I would save my points up to buy Calvin Klein Eternity in a gift pack every single Christmas.
When I worked in luxury beauty in the UK, I still remember the first time we launched Biotherm into their Blue Water store.
And then when they welcomed Lancôme, which felt like the height of luxury to me at the time, into their Oxford Street store, it was like a whole new world had opened up and Boots had reached the pinnacle of luxury, sitting alongside Selfridges and Harrods and Liberty at the top of the tree.
It was an actual pink castle with flags and masterclasses and a pick and mix wall with the founder of the launching brand, the brand was P. Louise, speaking live over the tannoy into every single store across the country at once.
It's a digital native, exclusively online, until last week and that fanfare launch into Boots.
They even had castle-branded lorries, by the way, delivering the goods store by store.
And then at the same time, but in the opposite direction, some of the biggest names on your back bar, they're making their way into Amazon and Adore Beauty and Mecca and Sephora, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Same year, same industry, but two different brand models that are pivoting towards each other.
But I am asking, why is this happening at the same time? Who am I? Well, I am Emma Hindmarsh-Conan.
