Between the Bells Murfreesboro - Jennifer Lowe and M'Lisa Miffleton

So Jennifer, you started at the district in about two years ago, right? About

five years ago, if I count my time as an EA.

We'll count that.

So you

started as an EA in one of the schools and then you moved up to the communications department where you are now the family and community engagement coordinator.

That's me.

All right.

So I know that this job is really diverse and most people don't even know what you do until they see you show up.

Would that be a good statement? That's a

fair assessment.

And sometimes I don't know what hat I'm wearing on which day when I show up because there's so many things that I do.

So what do you think is one of the most interesting things you do that maybe most people wouldn't know about?

So I do have charge of our food pantry and backpack program.

And I think most people don't realize that that falls under my job.

So

in just a brief summary, what is that program?

So it's two different programs, really.

We have our food pantry program, which serves our families in need with more like your pantry foods, ones that you'd make meals with.

Then we have our backpack program, which goes home in the kids' backpacks on Fridays discreetly, and it's small snacks that little hands can open up.

And so we probably are giving out today is one of our packing days, and I think we're going to do about 300 bags today.

Oh, that's awesome.

So that's just for them to have a little extra snack throughout the weekend

and help them go through.

Yes,

yes.
