Jakko, you have spent nearly two decades in the plastics and sustainability space.

Now, before we jump into all of that, and we will, who is Jaakko Tuomainen beyond the titles, beyond the projects?
I'm doing work in the transformation and growth activities related to plastic circularity and sustainability in Finland.
And as a person, I'm quite a lot interested in nature and all kinds of natural phenomena science as well and i i also studied science industrial engineering but not actually chemistry like many of my colleagues But of course, during this time, I've learned a lot of polymer chemistry also in a way, how we can, what kind of things we can do with plastics and how they do in different applications.

Now you mentioned you're focusing on circularity, circularity related topics, but you've also been working in logistics and supply chain management and very many other areas.

What drew you to the space of plastics recycling circular systems in the first place? Actually,
it's a combination of... personal values, as I said, I've always been interested in nature and these sustainability things myself.
But it was a coincidence also related to the timing and my earlier position.
when the sustainability and circular economy topics, they started to break through.
And first we considered that as a part of continuous improvement, but it was very motivating for me to take that on board.
And gradually then I was focusing and I was able to focus full time on these issues in our company.
about the circular economy because I feel it's a great combination how environmental impact is linked with business opportunities.
